Meghan Cruz is senior director of grassroots advocacy at the National Retail Federation. In this role, she is responsible for developing and implementing effective grassroots campaigns, strategies and tactics in accordance with legislative action plans. Under Cruz’s leadership, NRF has been recognized by Campaigns and Elections as the winner of the 2021 and 2022 Reed Award for Grassroots Trade Association of the Year and she is an honoree as one of the Top 21 in 2021 advocacy professionals by the Advocacy Association and FiscalNote.
Cruz has more than a decade of Capitol Hill, grassroots and trade association experience. Previously, she worked at the National Propane Gas Association where she managed the board of directors and executive operations; she previously served as scheduler for Representative Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio, and worked on successful political campaigns at the state and federal levels.
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Cruz received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Dayton and lives in Alexandria, Va., with her husband and children.
