Zahilys Hernandez is chief financial officer at the National Retail Federation. In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of NRF’s $60 million budget and all financial reporting activities. She provides financial oversight to ensure NRF’s financial resources are aligned with its strategic goals and partners with NRF’s leadership team to launch new programs and develop the business models that ensure their success.
Hernandez joined NRF as vice president of accounting and controller in 2015, overseeing NRF’s accounting operations and the timely and accurate production of financial reports and tax returns. She previously served as controller at the American Association for Justice, managing the finance department and overseeing financial reporting, organizational budgets and internal controls. She started her career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers, performing financial statement audits of nonprofit organizations.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Hernandez earned a double major in accounting and human resource management from the University of Puerto Rico.
