NRF Policy Committees
This retail members-only working group facilitates policy and stakeholder engagement on AI issues and the development of practices and guidelines for the use of AI within retail.
Employment Law and Benefits Committee
The NRF Employment Law and Benefits Committee is open to retail in-house legal counsel, senior human resource executives, lobbyists, compliance staff, benefit specialists and prominent outside labor counsel. This group collaborates on labor, human resources and employment law issues, including trends in litigation, new policy developments and best practices.
The NRF Food Safety Task Force is comprised of designated representatives from NCCR chain restaurant companies, typically senior quality assurance and food safety executives.
The NRF Food Supply Chain Committee is comprised of chain restaurant senior purchasing executives and government affairs executives. It focuses on issues impacting the supply chains of chain restaurant companies.
General Counsels Forum (Invite-only)
The NRF General Counsels Forum is exclusive to the most senior legal officers within NRF retail member companies and focuses on sharing strategies for addressing legal and management issues of concern to retail law departments.
The NRF Gift Card Working Group is open to retail members to address the rapidly spreading restrictions on gift cards.
International Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC)
The NRF International Trade Advisory Committee connects senior-level retail executives who support sourcing, compliance and trade roles within NRF retail member companies. This committee's key goal is to represent the industry's interests in facilitating trade efforts and eliminating burdensome U.S. and foreign trade barriers.
Policy Council (Invite only)
The NRF Policy Council extends an invitation to heads of government relations and policy executives, such as VPs, directors and managers, to review pending and proposed legislation and regulation, set official policy positions and implement strategies and tactics.
The NRF Postal Working Group provides guidance to NRF in representing retailers on matters before Capitol Hill, the Postal Rate Commission and the United States Postal Service.
The Privacy Committee is composed of senior retail executives and counsels in the government relations, legal and regulatory compliance departments within NRF retail members companies who are responsible for company operations that affect the privacy and security of consumer information.
The NRF Product Safety Committee communicates existing and potential product safety problems within the retail industry and addresses emerging product safety issues by providing substantive and strategic input into the development of industry public policy.
Small Business Retail Council (Invite only)
The NRF Small Business Retail Council extends invitations* to small business owners, CEOs, presidents or founders to amplify their voice on the local, state and national level.
State Government Relations Council
The NRF State Government Relations Council is a forum for NRF members to discuss current and emerging public policy issues at the state and local government levels.
Strategic Supply Chain Council
The NRF Strategic Supply Chain Council includes senior retail executives responsible for the global supply chain, transportation and logistics within their retail organizations.
The NRF Sustainability Council is a collaborative networking group open to senior executives in corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG), and related sustainability issues. This council allows members to discuss best practices and spotlight key CSR, ESG and sustainability issues.
The NRF Taxation Committee is comprised of senior tax executives of NRF retail member companies. The committee examines tax legislative and regulatory policies that affect retailers and recommends policy positions for the NRF to try to achieve through lobbying efforts.
