With NRF 2020 Vision: Retail’s Big Show in New York, we’re surrounded by the future of retail — all the innovation, creativity and technology that comes together to make the Big Apple a retail destination.
We’ve made it easy to see some of these retail superstars with two self-guided store tours, available through the NRF 2020 mobile app, and developed by Accenture with store research provided in partnership with the Retail Design Institute. The latest technology-integrated store tour features 20 stops encompassing grocery, luxury, fashion, beauty and electronics, while New York City’s best-designed new stores includes 20 showstopping retail spaces.
From Central Park South to Wall Street and Brooklyn, you’ll want to find time to visit at least a few of the stores on the list. We’ve compiled some of our favorites to get you started — if you want to stretch your legs, you can walk from the Javits Center to SoHo and stop at all 10. Atelier Beauté Chanel

Atelier Beauté Chanel is a workshop where shoppers can customize and explore beauty through an immersive experience including a skin consultation. Shoppers can learn new skills and discover Chanel's beauty products from skin care to makeup application.
b8ta
20 Hudson Yards
B8ta is an in-person, retail experience designed for electronics companies without bricks-and-mortar stores to provide consumers the opportunity to touch, feel and experience items pre-purchase. Many of the products are related to the Internet of Things and are designed to communicate that experience to a consumer in person.
Forty-Five Ten
46 Gansevoort Street
Based in Dallas, this elegant yet quirky store brings its eclectic curation of fashion, art and design to New York. Spread across three distinct environments, Forty-Five Ten encourages meandering through a non-contiguous floor plan in search of new merchandise to discover.
Hermes

This store celebrates the unique legacy of the French house and the vibe of downtown New York with a shared embrace of craftsmanship, creativity and innovation. The light-filled space brings rough-hewn elegance to the Hermes brand.

The North Face

Part base camp, part archive and part store, this is the ultimate embodiment of The North Face’s DNA. This location and other future stores are purposefully designed for longevity and will feature FSC certified reclaimed wood, steel, granite and low VOC paints.

This is the first of a number of Petco stores to have an upscale kitchen where chefs prepare human-grade food for pets. Marketed toward people who treat their pets like family, options include ingredients such as turkey, squash and venison.
Restoration Hardware

The new Restoration Hardware store is 90,000 square feet spread across an impressive six floors. Different vignettes allow shoppers to immerse themselves in the world of RH. Employees are armed with tablets to offer an in-depth look at inventory and display different finishes.

Get more information about the self-guided store tours at two sessions during NRF 2020. Sunday, January 12, the Accenture Customer Innovation Center and Neiman Marcus offer a virtual look at how technology can reinvent the purpose of the store. Monday, January 13, the Retail Design Institute and Nordstrom showcase the year’s best designed new stores of New York.
NRF is also offering guided retail store tours, providing a closer look at cutting-edge spaces by global retail leaders. Each tour visits five stores at a premier shopping destination, focusing on features, innovations, store design experience, customer service enhancements and brand stories. Visit iconic retailers in Hudson Yards, the Oculus, SoHo and more.
