WASHINGTON – The National Retail Federation today announced that it has hired Patrick McGary, former chief operating officer at the Heart Failure Society of America, as its new vice president of membership sales. McGary will oversee the development of recruitment and retention strategies to meet the demands of NRF’s diverse and growing membership.
“With a background in both non-profit and for-profit management roles, Patrick brings a wealth of executive-level leadership and experience to NRF,” Senior Vice President for Member Development and Partnerships Lisa Marzetti said. “Patrick has a history of success leading and managing strategic initiatives, and we look forward to the new ways NRF can support its current members while recruiting prospective ones under his direction.”
In his new role, McGary will focus on identifying, developing and implementing new recruitment strategies and tactics to grow NRF’s already robust 18,000-member base. He will also collaborate with senior staff and current NRF members to measure member-retention and engagement, ensuring NRF is providing value 365 days a year.
As COO at the Heart Failure Society of America, McGary was responsible for membership, marketing and finance. Prior to that, he was COO for the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition for over a decade, leading the organization’s strategic growth initiatives.
McGary holds a bachelor’s degree of science in hotel management from the University of Massachusetts, an advanced certificate in strategic human resources from Cornell University and the Certified Association Executive designation from the American Society of Association Executives.
