Consumers increasingly expect free delivery of items they buy online and are also embracing new options like picking up their online purchases at a local store, according to the latest issue of NRF's quarterly Consumer View report.

The National Retail Federation today announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. The NRF board welcomed the new members at its annual winter board meeting during NRF 2019: Retail’s Big Show, and they will serve a two-year term until January 2021.

The fifth annual NRF Foundation Gala featured an inspiring awards program and formal dinner that included both silent and live auctions. The star-studded event raised more than $3.2 million to support the Foundation’s programs, including educational initiatives, student scholarships and RISE Up, a powerful, industry-backed credentialing program.

The NRF Foundation announced that Macy’s Inc. Chairman and CEO Jeff Gennette has been elected chairman of the NRF Foundation Board of Directors, succeeding Karen Katz, former president and CEO of the Neiman Marcus Group. In addition, one new member has been elected to the board.

More than 37,000 retailers from nearly 100 countries will gather in New York beginning this weekend to network, learn and expereince the latest trends, innovations and strategies transforming the retail industry.

Imports have slowed down after a months-long rush to beat increased tariffs on goods from China, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report from NRF and Hackett Associates.

More than 40 percent of holiday shoppers surveyed expect to finish their holiday gift shopping by today, but the biggest procrastinators will still be buying gifts through Christmas Eve, according to the annual consumer sentiment survey released today by NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics.
